middle america
folks, that is where i am
i haven't been this far into middle america since i was a wee child living in memphis, tennessee, but even this is complete different than that river town.
corn fields for miles, nice people that want to talk to you, flat grounds, and big skies...
and as i found out today on our location scouting....they know we are not from here
the production company that i am with is all from nyc and the folks here all seem to know that we are out of place. it could be because we all "talk too fast" or because we all dress a little different or maybe our license plates and rental cars give us away. regardless, the people here make sure that they take care of us, free football tshirts from the highschool, a random "honey" used to address you as you make your purchase or the overly helpful hotel owners from india.
it is an interesting experience and it is only the first day
ps....putting cheese on everything seems to be the predominate food custom where we are
