3:10 to amazing
I am breaking the writer's block after I am not sure how long to make a small mention of a movie that I watched today.
3:10 to Yuma
Quite possibly one of my favorite films that I have seen in many, many, many years and I have to say- after watching Juno and this one back to back- I am quite sure that it deserved the academy award last year....
A film that so totally submersed me in a world that I can only imagine and possibly know from pictures that i have seen in books or sketches from the old time novels. A story of men and finding who you are in the eyes of yourself and in others, in the most primitive surroundings on the verge of complete and total change.
The beauty of the west, untouched by human hand - mountains and views that i can only hope to see someday for myself, where i can only imagine that standing in such a place will give me an instant connection to the past and the present all at the same time.
I have always had an unexplained need to see the "west". To see the sun seered desert, canyons and prairies that many braved to find whatever it was they were looking for. Hope for something better, something richer or maybe just something other than what they already had....
who knew that a less than 200 minute diversion in my day would stir such a sense of ambition and create a little more restlessness in my life
