January 24

according to researchers......this is the most depressing day of the year....

hhhhuuummmmm, do you think that counts for all those people that were born on that day-like my fabulous librarian friend in texas, who i think is one of my oldest (no, I am not making fun of her age-merely commenting on how long we have known each other) friends....who would have thought that the first person that i met when i transferred to a new middle school would still be a great friend....

so most depressing day of the year....that might explain why i felt the urge to leave my pajamas on all day and lay on the couch bundled in a blanket and watch mindless television for hours and hours.....and i decided to do that before i heard all the hype about the "most depressing day business"......the bad news is that it is 3 days later and i am still sitting around in my pjs.....

i think this is the rest and relaxation that i have been waiting for...but i have to admit that i am getting bored with it....i need to find something to do here in florida!

maybe i will write this off as the most depressing week of the year and start a new on monday...that means three more days of tv, bundled blankets and a devote mission of doing nothing.....and i can blame it all on the researchers

biscuit flowers

here in florida, there is no cold....well maybe a few nights, but that is limited

the downside of this warm climate- no snow, no great winter clothes and those brown furry boots that i bought this past fall will have to be retired until i make my way to a cooler climate

the upside of this is getting to work on a tan in January and having flowering plants when you are used to having bare trees and that leads to hearing one of the funniest child word flubs that i have heard in a long time....

my nephew was out working on the yard with us the other day and he comes running up to my mom, saying..."grandma, i have a biscuit flower for you, a biscuit flower"

being as i have never seen a biscuit flower, much less heard of one i turned to see what all the commotion was about.....and there in my nephew's hand was a huge red flower that he had picked off of our "hibiscus" plant

so no new species of plant, just a funny little kid enjoying the flowers of the winter

the return of tom

secret admission.....i have a "star crush" that i have been working on for the past few years.

no worry, it has not reached stalker crazy or anything like that. however, my aunt went crazy taking pictures of him when they shot a scene in her town...she sent them to me because she knew how much i loved the show...but this does NOT make me a stalker, i have just had family members do the work for me...no really...

who deserves such admiration you might ask.....none other than the once star of "ed", brown haired, blue eyed dream guy....whose show i always dreamed of working on because it was so much fun to watch...tom cavanaugh....

know i see that after a short hiatis from the world of television sitcoms, he is back and sadly now that i have moved out of new york...it looks like that is where the new show is being shot! uggh...defeated in my plan to meet him in the near future!

oh well, atleast there is some fun tv time to be had with his new show

kids and germs

they have won...the germs have won but only for a few days!

i have had the pleasure of spending the past few weeks with my nieces and nephew. however along with the fun times with wee ones comes the invasion of the kiddie germs.

kiddie germs are everywhere and pretty much have succeed in knocking me out of commission for the past week...but the grown up body has prevailed and the kiddie germs are out of here!
